Keyboard and trackpad

Touch ID The
Touch ID sensor is integrated in the power button next to the Touch Bar panel. The sensor detects fingerprints and allows you to unlock your MacBook securely. The sensor uses a Secure Enclave processor for secure and fast file encryption, secure boot process, smoother management of SSD storage and a wider range of Siri voice control features.
Thunderbolt / USB 4.0
The MacBook Air has two reversible Thunderbolt ports with up to 40 Gbps transfer speeds that act as a multifunctional line between your MacBook and external devices. The ports support DisplayPort video output for running an external 6K monitor at 60 Hz or two external 4K DCI monitors at 60 Hz.
macOS Big Sur The
